This Thursday, Portland's most peculiar export Aminé comes to The Cabooze, and if you're still not on-board with him being hip-hop's most unapologetic odd duck at the moment, behold his brand new video for "Spice Girl." The song emerged as the clear winner of Aminé's recent Twitter poll asking fans which video he should shoot next, and this self-directed clip goes full-Aminé.
Aminé has gone on record stating his first concert ever was seeing The Spice Girls when he was five, so his landing an appearance from Mel B. - Scary Spice if you're spicy - is a pretty cool coup. As is the cameo from Insecure creator Issa Rae. Of course, this being Aminé, both show up to cuss him out.
But the clip itself is probably most notable for being Aminé at his most, well, Aminé-esqe. From covering himself with hand soap and clipping his singing toenails in a bright-colored bathroom to being covered in raw eggs and Post-It Notes, it's pretty amazing a major label is giving him the funding and platform to not only bring this to life, but then officially release it.
Aminé, with Chicago's Save Money member Towkio, play The Cabooze this Thursday, October 12.
