Year of the Migos Part II continues with Travis Scott and Quavo, AKA Huncho Jack Jack Huncho, stopping by Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a performance of "Eye 2 Eye." Given how infectiously kinetic Quavo and his Migos brethren are onstage, and Scott's own reputation for unhinged visceral live performances, it's at first a touch strange to see their powers combined for something so reserved.
The two trade rhymes and ad-libs in front of a set design evoking Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. While the performance does give us an unexpected appearance from fellow Migos member Takeoff, the show is stolen by another special guest, a strikingly charismatic live Komodo dragon. Even Scott become taken with the dragon, locking eyes with the reptile and taking a chunk of the song to chill in the cut alongside it.
The performance should hold over both Scott and Migos fans as they prepare their next releases. Migos' hotly anticipated Culture 2 should be emerging any day now, and Scott's own AstroWorld is said by Scott himself to be the product of his "mission to be heard."
- Also in late-night grooves, ASAP Ferg rode with "Plain Jane" on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
- Emerging for the first time in a while, Kanye West and his father Ray West visited The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
- Fulfilling all your gritty east coast needs, Your Old Droog joins Conway for "Cement 4's."
- Back like he never left, Busdriver has returned with "Gush," his first track in two years.
