Metro Transit is asking for the public's help to launch its new mascot.

The Twin Cities' biggest transit operator released an image of the mascot on Wednesday, which prominently features the Metro's "T" logo.

The M&M-looking mascot, complete with cartoon hands and regular, adult legs, will require a "gender-neutral" name, the transit company said, and one which reflects its role as a "friendly, helpful and enthusiastic transit user."

It will start making public appearances at community events this spring.

You can send your name suggestions through Metro Transit's Twitter or Facebook accounts, or by sending a message through its website.
