You know the "entertainment venue" the Mall of America said would replace its now-closed movie theater?

It's going to be ... another movie theater.

The MOA announced Wednesday that CMX, part of the cinema giant Cinemex, will be opening a 14-screen theater this fall on the megamall's fourth floor. It's replacing the aging Theatres at Mall of America that closed last month.

To be fair, this movie theater is a little bit different. That's because moviegoers will be paying for a more "upscale and relaxing" experience in "high-end decor."

Between 14 screens there are only 1,104 seats – pretty low for movie theaters – because each theater will be filled with oversized recliners with a swivel table, a dim LED light and storage compartments for purses and shopping bags.

CMX is promising movies displayed using "the finest audiovisual technology," with one of the theaters featuring an extra large movie screen and premium sound system.

And forget the Milk Duds. The theater will be offering gourmet "Grab & Go" food and an "exceptional assortment of wines and handcrafted cocktails" courtesy of an on-site mixologist.

"Our CMX cinema will provide moviegoers an exceptional entertainment experience with the latest technology, comfort and gourmet dining." CEO Jaime Rionda said in the press release, calling the MOA "the most iconic shopping mall" in the U.S.

Construction is expected to take around nine months.
