A semi truck driver is recovering in the hospital after a miraculous escape on Monday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol shared the above photo on Twitter, showing a semi truck that had crashed through a guardrail and off a bridge on Highway 71, north of Sauk Centre at 9:45 a.m.
It fell into the Sauk Lake below, sending the animal parts it was hauling across the lake ice.
The cab also broke through the ice, putting the driver in serious peril.
Fortunately, he was able to smash a window in the cab and escape while the semi sank.
He was taken to the Sauk Centre Hospital for treatment, with State Patrol spokesman Jesse Grabow saying he has non-life-threatening injuries.
There's no indication yet of what caused the crash.
