Hot sauces have been gaining in popularity in recent years, so we decided to sample some Minnesota-made sauces to see if the rumors about ketchup being spicy are true.

Hot sauce popularity
More than half of all American households have at least one bottle of the stuff in their kitchen, NPD said, while Euromoniter reported in 2015 that spicy chili sauce sales are growing at a rate that’s nearly twice as fast as packaged food.
